Life As A Sponsor

It was very exciting to once again be the Platinum Sponsor at the 3rd annual ADRP Toronto conference last Friday. The Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP) is a 13 year old Association from New England that is expanding into the Canadian market. It is an Association for those working in the Donor Relations and Stewardship professions.  The Association and the conference offer these professionals the opportunity to share information, ideas, strategies and experiences with their peers. It is a great way to network with likeminded people.

The Toronto Conference is only 3 years old and I just want to say one thing: I feel so honoured to have participated in this conference over the past 3 years. I would have never dreamt of being a part of such a dynamic, energetic group of people.

I was sitting amongst people who really make a difference in the world. Attendees were there to learn best practices so that they can nurture their important relationships with their donors to ultimately help their causes. Who better to learn from than your peers! This conference acted as a forum for valuable exchanges amongst peers, an opportunity to make face-to-face contact with like-minded people. In today’s world it is important to stop, take a moment, learn, reflect and move forward in a meaningful way.

The coming together of these people afforded them to push the “pause” button so that they could take that moment. And with speaking with others about our line of work I too was able to press “pause” and be in the moment to learn and reflect on my experiences. There are no books or webinars more valuable than a real human exchange. I feel revived and inspired.  We love the ADRP and our association with them and are very happy and excited to announce that we will once again be the Platinum Sponsor at next year’s conference. Until then, au revoir!
